England face a threat as their route proceeds to seem more – but it will not come from some of the teams that they may face on the route to next summer’s showpiece.
Their opponents Group A could have been handpicked to get a passage by director Gareth Southgate and the Football Association.
There is a danger, but that lies in brushing aside impotent opposition with monotonous regularity.
While Kosovo, in 120th, are following up at St Mary on 32, bulgaria were dismissed 4-0 at Wembley. The Czech Republic, England’s highest-rated opponents in 43rd, have already been beaten 5-0 in Wembley while Montenegro were outclassed.
Not exactly glorified hardly although friendlies testing events .
England have gone undefeated qualifying matches, winning 33 and drawing on nine.
